TARGET

The Wasp is designed for the PPG pilot who wants to continue to progress after leaving flight school and the recreational PPG pilot looking for a reliable wing that uses the latest technology.

DESCRIPTION

Several performance enhancing design features have been incorporated in the glider giving better stability and glider cleanliness.
The Wasp offers outstanding launch characteristics and responsive handing. Double hang points on the risers means all harnesses are suitable.
Positioned on the safer end of the EN/LTF-B range and DGAC, the Wasp is a rock solid glider that everyone will feel comfortable flying.

BRUCE’S NOTES

The Wasp profits from our latest evolution in glider design. The wings structure is clean and simple. The Cord Cut Billow technology really enhances stability and performance on this glider. Our Optimized Line Layout system yields a total line length of just 328m on the M size providing less drag and better flying.

We have used a Plastic Reinforced Leading Edge and Elliptic cell openings give the Wasp a clean nose and progressive, smooth collapse recovery.

Bruce Goldsmith’s gliders have been known for having great handling, the Wasp is no exception.

DESIGN FEATURES

Cord Cut Billow (CCB)

Cord Cut Billow technology has been developed to improve the form friction, glider stability and overall performance of our paragliders. Two seams run chord-wise across the top panels of the leading edge to accommodate the panel ballooning that happens when the wing is inflated. Up to five centimetres of excess material is created on the sides of an inflated flat panel bending over a wing profile. Cord Cut Billow technology absorbs the material with a 3D panel resulting in fewer ripples and improved rib profile shape and stability.

Balanced Pitch Control

The profile of the wing has been carefully selected to provide stabilizing glider reactions in turbulent air.
When the wing rocks back or surges forward from turbulence or brake inputs, it will automatically and gently rotate back to the neutral position above the pilot.

Reinforced Leading Edge

Compared to the traditional Mylar leading edges a Reinforced Leading Edge with plastic spars makes the glider lighter, more durable, and reduces the creases on the seams
Each plastic wire has its own pocket behind the top surface seam giving a more robust construction than inserting the plastic into the exterior seam. This also makes it easier to replace damaged plastic.

Elliptical Cell Openings

We have found that elliptical cell openings give better lower surface tension making for smoother inflation, and re-inflation after collapses.

Wasp Paramotor risers

The risers and trimmer system give a wide range of speed, while maintaining precise light handling.
